Your road to becoming the best dancer you can be is going to be littered with mistakes, errors and failures, sometimes overwhelming failures.
So why on earth would you put yourself through it?
Why do we willingly do this to ourselves as dancers? Surely there would be easier things to do.
There in lies the secret. You were not born to be mediocre or to live a life full of scarcity, lack or limitation.
Humans are goal seeking and achieving creatures, were literally hard wired for wanting to do, be and create more, it’s part of your spiritual DNA.
There is a flaw though, in our programming.
We are also programmed from a very young age to “not fall” to “be careful, you might fail” type of mentality.
What do you mean might fall?
Your going to fall! In fact if you’re not making mistakes you’re doing it wrong.
Did you know that failing doesn’t make you a failure, unless you quit? Burn that into your mind. You are never, ever a failure unless you quit.
That type of programming really sticks you in a small box.
It’s our inner desires that when fully ignited actually become burning desires and it’s these burning desires that fuel our willingness to make-it-happen.
To push through the obvious limitations, the facts or what is your perceived reality of why you can’t do that thing you want to do.
Without a burning desire backed by a plan to achieve an outcome you’re never going to reach that next level.
You have got to want it!
Motivation is not worth much, sure it feels good but inspired action is a much more powerful tool for actualizing your desires, dreams and goals; and create lasting change.
Once you have discovered your burning desire to achieve more through your dancing, you’re going to want to have daily inspiration backed by daily action – no matter how little.
Success in anything really comes from the small, successive and daily actions when combined over time amount to quantum leaps in results.
So what inspires you?
We’re very fortunate in our craft that you can be inspired so easily by the music, artistry of movement, education from lessons or simply by watching a video of the dancers you admire most.
One of the reasons I partnered DSI-London to create the next generation of dance portal, DSI TV, was to help dancers on a global level to be inspired and not let geographical or financial boundaries inhibit them.
I wanted you to be able to access dancing 24/7 and get lessons, insights, the latest choreography or fads in competitive dancing for dancers of any age or level.
Now, I want you to define what inspires you, without this inspiration, you’re not going to have the wood for the fire you need to light under your burning desire.
Because improving your dancing is sheer hard work, but it’s so rewarding and fun.
You’re going to need to put in a lot of sweat and hopefully not too many tears!
I’m so grateful for you to have this resource of OneStepDanceShop.com at least as a starting point to put you in the right direction of great dance tools.
In tomorrow’s blog, I’m going to be writing about the next key for you which is to do with targeted goals and I’m going to share with you what I have learned from my master mentor, Bob Proctor, star of the hit movie The Secret.
Most people know how to set goals, very few know how to achieve them.
I look forward to bringing you another blog shortly.
